ROUTINE & RUDIMENTARY
Challis Creek Ranch and RandRforHorses.com Routine & Rudimentary Program incorporates what we believe to be the most comprehensive group of basic services available in the industry today.
In addition to the spring, summer and fall pasture grazing conditions outlined throughout our site, during the winter months horses receive a controlled combination of alfalfa, grass, grass/alfalfa combination and oat hay
tested to provide ingredient and protein percentages to insure the optimum nutrition required to best cope with changing four season environmental and weather conditions. If necessary grains are supplemented as conditions dictate especially with new boarders through their first full year of acclimation.
For the safety of all our boarders, an initial Quarantine Program
and comprehensive Vaccination and Deworming Program are mandatory. (See www.RandRforHorses.com Rates and Requirements for specific details.)
Electric fencing, permanent for periphery fences, movable for cross fencing
, pasture rotation and pasture size adjustment, is utilized totally eliminating potentially dangerous Barbwire, Hog Wire or other "non horse friendly" containment methods.
Medical facilities
for immediate care by local veterinarians are available on premises to cover virtually any contingency 24/7/365. (See Challis Creek Ranch and RandRforHorses.com Rates and Requirements, Veterinarian and Related Services section for more details.)
Salt blocks, trace mineral blocks
, granular mineral, vegetable and fruit supplements (carrots, apples, pears, etc.) are a frequent provision.
Grooming (including bath, shampoo, conditioners and coat spray) can be provided as needed though not a "society requirement" in our large, open range, herd environment. Fly spray and other pest deterrents and control procedures are utilized as conditions dictate.
A detailed action history (including all medical and farrier records) is maintained electronically for every horse. A copy is available via E-mail attachment (or hard copy via good ol' "snail mail") upon request.
Each client has Password secure access to their own webpage on RandRforHorses.com on which they can, at their leisure, view continually updated information on their horse. Their personal webpage contains photos updated at a minimum bimonthly, occasional short video, text updates relating to pertinent issues or occurrences relating to their horse, their invoices and a running statement of their account.
